Whats a good red hair dye to put over dark brown hair?

i really want red hair!! without bleaching* anyone know of a color i can use that will turn it red. and not just a tint of red.Whats a good red hair dye to put over dark brown hair?
What color of red are you wanting to go? Because it depends on what color you are wanting to not have to bleach it. If you are wanting a dark red like this:

You should not have to bleach it. But if you wanting something more bright and funky like this:

You may have to bleach it first, depending on how dark brown your hair color is at the moment. Hope that helps a bit.Whats a good red hair dye to put over dark brown hair?
I had red. I used L'oreal colour rays Red. It worked perfectly and gave like fire red highlights to my hair. I used the same product on my friend with almost black hair and she got the same color! (this is the unnatural, punk red color)

for a more natural shade, try manic panic. it'll wash out eventually, but it's pretty loud without bleach (and insanely loud with it)

good luck!
Ok... well I know what you mean, because I am a redhead... naturally dark brown. Without bleaching. It'll take a while, though.

You need to die your hair a lighter brown... then another lighter shade... Then you need to die is strawberry blonde. Then go with the shade of red you want. Just so you know, red hair dye stays in. Once its red, it'll always be tinted red. even if you dye it black.

Unfortunately, there is no one dye for it. I wish there was. But after you get it the color you want, touchups on your roots will get to that color because the hair is so new and easily colored.

Aso, its best to stay with one brand of dye.

Good luck!!
Seriously, don't listen to all the people above who said to bleach. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BLEACH.

Any off-the-rack color from the drugstore will at least give you red highlights, depending on how dark your hair is. Just be sure to choose one that goes well with your skin tone. You can find out with a quick Google search.
you should bleach your hair first and then dye it. after you wash out the dye leave conditioner in it for a really long time to make it soft or else it'll feel fake. then you can dye it whatever color you want and it should come out the same color as the box.
You would have to bleach your hair to get the dark brown out of it. If you just color over your hair with red it is not going to turn out nice.
try heavy auburn thats a really good trick for brown hair and it really works and wont mess up your hair
