This depends of the type of your hair, also if the hair is extremely bleached or just pre-lightened. Other factors to consider: type of red dye you want to use [ semi-permanent or permanent], brand, what shade of red etc...
If you want to do it yourself , definately do a test first, but i suggest go to a hairdresser and get it done professionaly. If you don't have money to spend in a salon, then give them a call and ask, some hairdressers are very helpful and might be able to give you some free advice over the phone :) Going from bleached blonde to red can go horribly wrong if not done properly. It depends on how bleached your hair is really.
If its a kind of dirty blond- then you'll get a darker red colour.
If it is very blond- like almost white blond- your hair will turn out a very bright, vibrant red. The exact colour shown on the box, most likely! And the colour will last longer too!

Well normally if you want to dye hair a certain colour. Then say, hairdressers, they would dye your hair white, then dye it the colour you want. So if your hair is bleach blonde, then that is sorta close to white, then it will go bright-ish red =] BUT BEWARE IT MIGHT GO ORANGE...

IT WILL GO PINK.... trust me i did this and it was over a bank holiday so couldn't even get it corrected. I would say that you would have to go dark, then red but i would go to a salon and get it done. I know it's expensive but it ended up costing 拢170 to put my hair right in the end and i had to go dark for 3 months. You could always go to a salon as a model and it would be much cheaper, and supervised the whole time.
ahaha ive done that! it turns electric orange juice ORANGE if its already a bleached blonde you can do a medium to DARK auburn just to get a normal natural looking red color.
if starting like that, from past experience id use..... garnier 100% color #660 I believe intense auburn!!!!! its perfect! a true red..not at all orange!

if you are going to put a red on a blonde you would have to re pigment the hair first as bleach strips all the colour out,dont put a brown on it would have to be a red brown or you will go green,speaking from experience!! then put the red on top
it will most likely turn out bright red. i used to bleach people's hair before adding any color like that and it turned out the color of the dye. its all how your hair reacts. when it starts to fade though it will turn the color of your name! haha!
there should be a colour guide on the box somewhere telling u what colour it will go if applied to blonde hair, brown hair, black hair, follow that
