What happens when orangish red hair dye starts to fade?Does it go lighter or darker?

i dyed my hair black then i hated it so i got it bleached like 3 times but without lots of damage. it was orange after all. then they dyed it brown but now its reddish orangish.

Well red dye usually is what will fade the most, but it doesn't sound like you used red dye at all. It sounds like the brown dye mixed with the orange (bleached) hair is what caused the ';reddish orangish';.





It doesn't sound like your hair will fade very fast like it would if you dyed it red. But rather will fade very slowly, like most any dye besides red. If you wash your hair frequently, the red will probably come out like a semi permanent colour.





Bleach, in my experience, doesn't hold red dyes very well.


So it could possibly go back to brown.


I'd say after alot of the red has faded, try a deeper brown,


because it will lighten.

I've done this from a hair mistake. Mine actually got a little litter and a little more orange. Hope this helps.
